An evening when every student gets to look through a telescope - often the moment they remember most from school science.
What happens
- A short, age-appropriate introduction to what students are about to see.
- Observation at several telescopes, each with a guide from the Pakistan Science Club team: the Moon's craters, Jupiter and its moons, Saturn's rings, bright stars and clusters - depending on what is in the sky that evening.
- Time for questions. Parents are welcome where the school invites them.
Works in the city
The Moon and planets are bright enough to observe from a school ground or rooftop in any city. We choose the date together, ideally near first-quarter Moon or when bright planets are well placed.
What the school provides
An open, safe space with a clear view of the sky, supervised access after dark, and a contact person on the day. If clouds cover the sky, we agree a new date.
Our experience
Pakistan Science Club has run astronomy nights for families, telescope observation at the end of its STEM camps in Karachi and Islamabad, and school observation sessions such as a Moon and Jupiter evening at Alpha Core Elementary School.
