Astronomy nights

Evenings of guided observing with Pakistan Science Club - the Moon, planets and bright stars through telescopes, for families and communities.

An astronomy night is the easiest way to see the sky through a telescope for the first time - with someone beside you who knows where to point it.

What happens

  • A short introduction to the sky that evening: which planets are up, where the Moon is, the brightest stars and constellations.
  • Observing at several telescopes, each with a guide from the Pakistan Science Club team.
  • Questions, and help for anyone who has - or wants - a telescope of their own.

Where

Pakistan Science Club has held family astronomy nights in Karachi with partner venues, and telescope observation at the end of its STEM camps in Karachi and Islamabad. Nights are planned around the Moon's phase and the weather.

Host one

Resorts, housing societies, farmhouses, clubs and community groups can host an astronomy night for their members or guests. Tell us the place, the expected number of people and a few possible dates.
